'72 detail part question...

I need to replace the small rubber hose the drains water from the heater squirrel cage. This is part number 911 571 224 00 and our host lists it as NLA. Any ideas for a source or workaround?

While I'm at it same goes for the rubber cover for the hole at the bottom of the smugglers compartment. Part number 902 572 571 20. Any ideas?

Thanks!

I don't know about the drainage hose, but the rubber cap in the smugglers box can be replaced with the plastic case that comes with 3m electrical tape. It's a perfect snug fit.

Auto Atlanta always lists the parts where others list NLA. Worth a call though.

S t o d d a r d dot com has the second part but not the first. I have used them a lot because they are right up the street from me.

Have to put a dash between the number sets for their search engine to recognize. They have good customer service.

that rubber cap is going to be next to impossible to find in good condition... trust me
I went through several on line parts suppliers and hardware suppliers (Grainger etc) to find a substitute.
The 3M tape box was suggested over on Early S and it works perfectly. If it's good enough for that forum it's good enough.

I replaced the rubber cap in mine with a rubber 3" drain cap from Home Depot plumbing department. It fits very nicely. If you need to cap the hole in the bottom of the smugglers box next to the drain tube you can measure the diameter and get a KO seal at an electrical supply.

Well. Low and behold. Porsche is now offering the rubber cap through the "classic" department.
part #90257257120
Doesn't look like it's available through our host yet.
