Carrera option codes: C03 & 340

Hi folks,

Ran my option codes past the decoder at:
www.kindel.com/Porsche/options.asp

340 is "Seat heating - Right"
C03 is "California type car"

Now... I didn't know I had seat heating, right or left. How do you turn it on? Secondly, what differences are found in a CA car for the year 1985?

Regards,

Seat heating - There should be a 2 way switch/rocker on the bottom side of your seat, to the rear of the adjustment switches. Up is on, and down is off.

Up is on. There's a 15 minute timer, this is by-passed when you press the down part of the rocker. Mine also has a little wheel for adjusting the temperature up and down under the rocker.

Option codes are on a white sticker on the front center inside of the hood (boot).

Thanks for the replies. I don't think I've ever noticed my seat heater switch! Too bad it's summer time... I guess I'll see if it works.

option codes are also on the inside cover of the warranty book (or is it the owners manual...one of those two). If there is no sticker under the front hood, it could be an indication of a repaint.

No codes in the manual and no paper up front. Is there a way to research it through the factory?

You can call your local dealer or Porsche North America - give them the VIN and they can tell you the options that the car was originally built with.

from the PCNA website:
