Lightbulb Help with wires on an ignition switch, which go to IGN, which go to ACC?

I found a pronged switch!!!!!!!!!!!

The ST prong was easy

Got the BAT prong wire, and the fuel pump wire (does this pump wire belong on IGN? )

I fired "Little Bull" up !!!!!!! After seven cruel days

However I have 5 more wires now hanging, don't know whether they belong on ACC , or IGN , or whether I can use either (or none)

These remaining wires are colored. Ideas welcomed

One other note: I briefly also "fabricated" a plastic retaining ring for this new switch. So it fits right on the dash as the original, and looks good. I may even use the ring as a template for a walnut one in the future (or whatever looks best). The original plastic ring, I've never been thrilled about. So if I obtain an OEM switch, I may use it and the ring holder as the back-up instead!

HGP, Check page 1 of the '71 wiring diagram in the electrical wiring diagrams on this BBS. The half circle shaped item labeled 31 is the ignition switch. I suspect the wiring colors and routing are close to the harness in your car. Cheers, Jim

Thanks Jim, the diagrams look similar to those in my Porsche Manual. It's the small numbers in the switch where some of the wires seem to go to the same terminal which have me perplexed when deciding where to connect on the new switch.

On mine three wires, a Red (battery), light red, and "pink" all seem to go to terminal 30. Which means on the new switch where only one wire (one prong for the BAT) the battery wire goes to the BAT prong, where I'm not sure whether the other two go to the IGN. (meaning, are IGN on the new switch, and #30 on the old, serve the same functions?) I actually like the new switch with the BAT on it’s own separate prong.

And what is the light red (red-white) wire at #30 on the old switch do? ….. the red-white seems to lead off to an unidentified location.

#15 on the old has a reddish wire, don’t know it’s function or where it goes, even when following the diagram. If it’s for the alternator, I’m not certain whether this goes on the NEW switch to IGN ? (or ACC)

I have plenty of prongs available on the new switch (4 prongs available for IGN, 4 for ACC, two for ST, and one for BAT) I don’t want to blow the new switch!!
