964 Brake Calipers on an 80 911/Will it work?

Will a set of Front and Rear brake calipers from a 964 bolt on to an 80 911? Is there a difference in the bolt patterns and if so, how hard is it to modify?

Thanks.

No, they will not bolt on. Yes, they can be made to fit, but not with std 1980 front discs and not without modifying/adapting all 4 calipers. This has all been covered before if you search, but that is the simple answer.

Read this first: http://home.nycap.rr.com/wmv/generalbrmd.htm

Here's everything you need to put 964 calipers on a 911

BTW - Bill Verburg knows more about brakes than anybody. So in response to your question - it's yes, it's been done. Is it direct bolt on? No - see the links. And I recommend you read what Bill has written about brakes. It will save you mucho cost, headache, and frustration.
