availability of tires for 9x17 and 10x17 ruf wheels

i'm striking out trying to find a matched set of tires for these ruf speedline wheels. the tires on them now are yokohama 235/40-17 and 285/40-17 AS20. discount tire lists kuhmos in that size but they can't get them. what are you folks running and where did you get them? to fit a '79 930 fwiw.

With those widths on a turbo car, 245/40/17, 245/45/17 or 255/40 front and 275/40/17 rear.

John, I think you'd be better served looking at 235/45-17 tires for the front. That's the correct rolling diameter and one of the most popular 17" sizes. I just took a quick look at the TireRack website and saw a couple of top performance tires listed that are available in 235/45 and 285/40 sizes.

Also sending a PM

For my street 17's (which are pretty much the same but in Fikse flavor) I run a 225/45/17 front and 275/40/17 rear BF goodrich g-forces, decent tires, ok wear, whole set cost me 550 on tirerack

The track 17's are a different beast altogether

FWIW, Ruf used 235/40 -17 and 255/40-17. They also used smaller spacers on the rear hub, 15mm if my memory serves me. In those sizes, my suggestion would be a Bridgestone RE-11.
