What do your Targa seals look like?
My front and rear Targa top seals look ragged, really the only blemish on my car.
But I'm hesitant to replace them because they looked terrible when I got my car 20 years ago (lots of rips and tears) with around 30k miles on it, and they actually haven't gotten much worse over the years. I'd say they were a 6/10 then, and they are a 4/10 now. But lately I'm thinking how did these get so bad in the first 3 years of the cars life??? Otherwise (then) the car was 10/10 WRT paint and interior, a real garage queen. I'm curious if I replace them how long the new ones will stay nice looking? Chuck.H '89 TurboLookTarga, 340k miles |

Does anybody have original Targa seals in good condition??? I hear a lot of posts about people replacing them so I'm assuming 'NO'...

If you've searched this topic, I'm sure you know the seals being sold are NOT correct for years up to at least 1988. You need to talk to Dan at Carsincnj.--- 609 298 2277. If you are going to replace the seals, you might as well do it right

Are you talking about the seals against the back of the side windows? Mine have been dying over the last few months - see my earlier thread here: Targa side window seals wearing out
I'm still trying to find a good solution besides spending $$$ for a new one.

I installed mine from Dan at Carsinc 3+ years ago, because they fit properly they have held up, no tears of deformations.
As for my old improper seals, they were crushed and torn.
