can anyone identify the wires?

84 euro 930
under the driver side of the dash, i just replaced my headlight switch and found a few wires that were plugged together but the ends were not matching up? everything was working fine as far as i knew? i am trying to figure out what they go to, it seems obvious what ends match up to what but i want to make sure that something else down the line was not changed because these were wrong?

I have a bit of a rule of thumb when it comes to electronics on my cars, Porsche's especially. If every thing on the car works, and there are spare wires, just cap them off and leave them. In many cases companies installed the same harnesses on more than one model so some extra wires here or there. It is also possible that the PO in stalled something and then removed it and left the wires. Maybe something broke and the wire was all together bypassed but left there. My advise is dont kill yourself trying to trace it. If every thing works, cap it and tuck it back somewhere.

Regards
Dave

From what I remember

The white square connectors are most likely attached to wires from the turn signal switch.
My guess is the turn signal lever/switch has been replaced at some point in time.

The black wire and the black/white/green should be for the hazard lights.

The 2 grey wires connect the ignition switch to the turn signal lever for the euro park light function
