911T vs 911S Instruments
I did a search but couldn't find an answer. Can anyone tell me the difference between the instruments on a 911T vs a 911S. I have a 1970 Targa and one of its options was 911S instruments. What was the difference? Many thanks.

IRISH:
A while back I researched this topic. I came up with the following information. Instrumentation: E and S came with the full complement of gauges, as did all models with the sportomatic transmission ( E, optional on T). Only the left two gauges were different on the manual transmission T. Full complement instrumentation was an option on the T. 1) The E and S had a dual-instrument unit of fuel level gauge and oil level gauge. The T had only a fuel level gauge. The E and S had a dual-instrument unit of oil temperature gauge and oil pressure gauge. The T had only the oil temperature gauge. 2) On the S the oil temperature/oil pressure instrument also contains separate “idiot lights” that signaled the handbrake is on/alternator warning. The single gauge T instrument also had these two warning lights. Al |

also, the tachometers for the S, E and T models all had different redlines.

Haycait911 beat me to it. Tachometer redlines are:
S = 7,200 E = 6,800 T = 6,300 Al |
