Dansk Sport Muffler w/70mm Tip

Has anyone tried the Dansk Sport 1 in/1 out muffer with the 70mm tip?

I've gotten one opinion so far. Just looking for a few more. And, yes I've tried the "Ultimate Exhaust Thread".

Is it loud in comparison to stock? I had a GHL 1 in/1 out which I found pretty loud once I switched from the cat to a premuffler. So I removed it and replaced it with stock. I may just leave the stock one, but I'm toying with the idea of the Dansk Sport 70mm if it is not too loud.

I have the 70 mm Sport, but 2 in. It is not too loud. When cruising it is quiet even, only slightly more distinct than the standard SC muffler. At full tilt it has a nice ripping sound, as if tearing a metal sheet if you can imagine. Sounds just right to me

Matt,

Hey its leo, I bought your fabspeed. After shopping for the common p-car exhausts including your ghl and the crazy prices I ended up with a dynomax muffler 17676. $60 + $150 for muffler shop to install and it sounds amazing. Idle is very quiet no drone at all and when your on it its great!! Worth every penny. Will it out live the $500-$1000 muffler? Probably not, but why would you want a toy thats going to out live you. Got it at jegs.com

Mine sounds great and yes should last forever, also have a euro pre muffler sounds good at/near idle but once you hit the loud peddal, sounds deep and evil.
Will be for sale soon.....

Leo, I agree if you need to replace the OEM..then that is a good solution for not only the economy of it, but the weight savings alone. Muffler technology has come a long way the past 25-30 years..so is OEM really better...debateable. Plus if frees up cash for some other great mods. I know plent of guys who modded the one out into a 2 out muffler...did not seem to hurt anyone's feelings. Sure sometimes being as pure as you can is great but when it becomes a financial burden, and the performance value is less than or equal to...time to think custom mod....after all racers have been doing it and advancing us all for years because of that mentality.

I ended up getting this muffler and installed it yesterday. I have to say, I'm pretty happy with the sound of it. It is nowhere near what my GHL sounded like...that thing was awesome. However, the loudness of it finally got to me.

This muffler is pretty quiet however it sounds better than stock (to me at least). The only thing I'm not crazy about is how the exhaust tip protrudes out. But other than that I would recommend it if your looking for something that isn't deafening but sounds better than stock.

On my 72 I cut the tip down a good inch if not more.

How did you do it? Did you have to refinish the end?

I used a cutting wheel, then used a big file to smooth the edges, finished the bare metal with ceramic paint that you can buy at a parts store. It's a little bit shorter then the rear bumper now compared to before where it looked kind of ridiculous on my 72. Oh yeah forgot to mention that I painted the entire tip of the muffler as I don't like chrome on my car.
