Photos of Longhoods w/Flat Fuchs
Found a nice set of 15x6 flat fuchs for my 70T...I know there not quite period correct but I acquired a nice set with tires to replace my fake Fuchs. Anyone have photos of this set up. The deep six's are visually more appealing why did Porsche make a Flat six, anyone know the history behind the Flats?

I found some for my 71t as well, though I haven't installed them yet-- I think the reason they changed was the forging dies expired or wore out- the change happened in '72 production if I'm not mistaken so any stock pic of 72-73 should have flats.

Change to flat was in '72. Flats have humps for tubeless. I think the change was a cost reduction, easier to forge. Here is my '71T with flat 6's (originally a 14" car). I don't think the difference is all that obvious to most people.

Your T looks very nice, thanks for the photo. I am awaiting my wheels, they are currently black petals with anodized lips how difficult is the process to create the stock look with polished petals?

I didn't know that about the switch to tubeless. That would explain why my tire guy had to use tubes when mounting the new tires on the deep sixes. Said he couldn't keep the valve stems in.

There are valve stems that will work. A lot of folks run 7R's and deep 6's tubeless.
Polishing the pedals is matter of what was done to paint them... The factory left the aluminum in pretty rough shape if they were to be painted. Just means more work to polish them. Ideal would be polish and then re-anodize, then paint the black backgrounds. I had mine done locally for about $100 ea but if I do it again I'll have Harvey do it correctly. |

My 73 came with Dunlops with tubes and I switched to CN36 with tubes so that was not the reason. I put tubeless later and no problems.
Stock is not polished, anodized and black.

Al, you win. You are far flatter than I will ever be. Now in regard to your taste in women...
Edit: No S on regard but most women do have one (or at most 2)
