VERY basic H4 upgrade tip

I bought H4s was struggling to install them on my SC. The lower bolt did not want to get started into its nut. Enter my father, now retired but a long time Porsche body man. Dad watched me fiddle and fuss with the H4 then grabs a pair of needle nose and tweeks the nut tab back about 5 degrees. Voila, perfect fit. Now why didn’t I think of that?

Bud,

About 30 years more experience pretty well explains it ...

I had the same problem with mine that drove me NUTS !!! I found a larger/longer screw and jammed it in..Well, probably not the best thing to do, but it worked.

I had the same problem when installing mine. I had just purchased the car and wanted to keep it pristine and wouldn't think of taking pliers to it. After two evenings of trying to get that screw started, I grabbed the pliers, bent back the retaining nut and the screw went in on the first try. Some things just need to be man-handled.
