New Fuchs from Fuchs in 17,18 and 19"

I did a search but could not find any discussion.

Apparently 19" Fuchs are available from Fuchs for the new cars and their website says they are ready for 17 and 18 inchers in fall 2012?

http://www.fuchsfelge.com/index.php?id=195

What's the word on the street?

I'd like to see these in 18" on my 993 but can't find info if they will be available in the coilover offsets.

More searching brings up the list of available wheels.

The pricing looks in the 600-700 Euro range.

It does not look like they are going to make 17" (or 18") for the torsion bar cars. That would be a huge market due to the tire availability challenges for 16". One reason is probably the fact that the cars never came with anything over 16" and getting this past the TUV / getting a cert for road use in Germany.

I say this ahead of time in all likelihood of possibly offending a few, but something about the 993 pictured above with the fuchs reminds me of one of the many fleaby offerings consisting of a 1977 targa (no year in particular) that's been chopped off into a convertible, and the owner spent all the money into the fiberglass bodywork but neglected to updo the wheels (and likely the interior and engine)!!! I'm just not sold on them looking as awesome/good/period correct as they do for all pre 89's - am I the only one?

I actually agree - they make the car look dated. I am running Fikse FM10 and they are "period correct" for a 993 - much nicer. I was hoping that Fuchs had 17 inchers ready for the torsion bar cars, but apparently that's not happening here.

Cheers,

G
