78 SC Engine/Transmission Seperation problem

Hello All,

Purchased a 78 SC recently. The car had been sitting for a few years, I have removed the engine for rebuild from the car but seem to have something hanging up to remove the the transmission from the engine. I have removed all four bolts from the engine, also the starter is removed. I have been following Wayne's book and Bentley to the "T". I did not remove the clutch arm from the bottom of the transmission. I suspect this it the problem??
Any help appreciated! My first rebuild so I will be looking for help a lot!
Thanks in advance

yes, you can either take the arm off, or overcenter the spring mechanism and it will slide right off.

Take the circlip of the small clutch arm and slide it off. The throwout fork is holding the tranaxle from coming off.
