Pertronix wiring , help needed mates please !!!

Hi !!!

Installing my Pertronix + coil on my 2.4 E / 1972 , i ask myself where to connect the two black wires that comes out from the right side of the ignitor ???

I think it's the impulsion wires , right ???

Must i connect them to the red wire of the Pertronix module ???

There is nothing on the diagram talking of that.

Here goes... on my car the - the black lead from the Pertronix goes to a 'T' connector - there it connect to a black lead and a black+purple lead. (image 2). The red lead from the Pertronix connects to a black lead, itself connected to the second fuse down on the fuse block (image 1). Hope this helps.

I found this old thread from 2008. Saved it for installing the Pertronix on my 72E 2.4. Hope it helps...

Wow , really thanks mates for the help.

If i understand correctly , the 2 wires that goes out of the ignitor on the factory model , and replaced by the 2 of the Pertronix , must be connected on the black wire of the Pertronix , .

Right ???

Here i am ,

Pertronix installed , i've sparks and ignition.

But no tachymeter , and the engine does'nt cranks.

It smells gazoline , i've set the timing ............

My problem firstly is that my tacho not works when i connect both the 2 wires , tacho & BHKZ information.

When i just connect the tacho wire , this one works , but no ignition.

When i just connect the BHKZ info wire , i've ignition but no tacho.

When i connect the two wires , ignition and no tacho.

???????

Any help appreciated , Ponderosa not replies me , and i start to think to mount back the points...............

Assuming you have the right Pertronix for the car, I'd check to make sure the unit is correctly seated (with thread lock) and secure inside the distributor, I'd also check the ground straps on the car. Your last post is a little confusing - does the engine crank or start?
