Porsche Crest Side mirrors glass vibrating

On a 911 77 side mirror. The glass is vibrating when you drive which is distracting.

How is the glass held on to the mirror holder and what is the best fix for this?

Thanks you

The mirror glass on the "flag" style mirrors is held in by metal clips which are bonded to the back of the glass. The mirror adjustment frame in the housing has corresponding holes with plastic inserts for a press fit.

Could be that either some of your clips or inserts are missing or have come loose.

R,

It may be 2 things:

1. on item 10 you will see 3 10MM bolts that may need tightening, it will reguire the mirror to be removed.

2. #16 needs to be tightened. But do not over torque it.
