Looks a bit different...

That car doesn't resemble the car the "estate" was trying to sell. The clear ( blanks) turn signals, and fog lights would have stood out. Also, no European head lamps....It seems the car was grey with red interior..but then again, this was 15 yrs ago.

Thanks Juan...Obviously, the car shown on Rodeo drive is NOT the same car as the one in the opening movie scenes. C'mon guys, print out the pic Juan posted...then get out your tape of Lemans, then... Well, it's NOT the same car. Rodeo drive car..tan interior? That agreed? Rodeo drive car...antenna on the right? That agreed? Rodeo drive car...no fog lites. That agreed? Rodeo drive car...No 2.2 sticker in rear window, no Weltmeister sticker in lower right of windshield. All agree to this? Okay...now, go watch the movie & report back. There will be a test...but keep your essays under 500 words... Oh, '69 door handles...a definite > shape to them...'70 door handles will appear as an almost straight line....

summation...

it's obvious...Chad has his father's ex-personal car. All the rest seems to be "hype". Great thread..

The estate did try to sell it in the late 80's....

Curt...agreed. Chad's dad's ex "personal" car is the one shown at Rodeo drive. It is NOT the car driven in the opening scenes of the movie "Lemans". I guess that's what I've been trying to say throughout this string.

This is an old thread that I revived as I'm trying to find a pic of the 911 that Chad McQueen owns that belonged to his father.
The picture of it in this thread doesn't show up, Anybody got one?

EdiT: Once I revived the thread the pic showed up
But if anybody has another please post it.

No argument from me. That '69 is one beautiful car. But it's NOT the '70 seen in the opening scenes of the movie...my opinion hasn't changed...

Damn sure is and it might have changed my mind about what color to paint my car. (I have a tan interior.)

It's been a while since I've seen the movie but, didn't the car in the opening sequence have a sunroof?

I have WINDVD loaded on my computer (came with the new DELL) and you press 'P' to capture an image while the film is playing. The only wrinkle is the images are a little taller than they should be so I have to correct them by 'eye' in photoshop.

This is probably not much help for your problem though.
