shifter question ( spacer under shifter )
under the shifter holding the mounting for shift rod bushing. there is a spacer between the sifter houseing and the mount for the shift rod bushing. is this normal. i.ve replaced all the bushing. still am having shifting problems. sometimes shifts into 1 st just fine most times not. i adjusted the shift coupler had no play in 5th gear. now all gears are stiff but 1st hard. seems the first shift of the day is good. also replaced motor mounts. not sure what to do.. thanks carl

No spacer in my '86.
|
Sounds strange, post a picture of the spacer and the location if you can.
|
can not post pic as it is back together. at the rear of the shifter there are two bolts that hole shifter down under that is the floor , spacer , then the bracket that holds the shift rod bushing. this is the spacer I'm talking about, thanks 1982 911sc

I didn't have a spacer in mine when I re-did all of my bushings this spring.

If the spacer looks like this on the right, then you have a short-shift kit mounted

I agree with you Ed that what you have pictured is a Weltmiester, but I have found this kit also listed as a Weltmiester ??? I wont mention the supplier here to avoid conflict with PP. Cheers |
The one without spacer plate is for a 4-speed 930 tranny, like the one I posted...
