Porsche 911 Election
Its Election Day in the US. Which air-cooled model should win the popular vote? Give a one-sentence description of why you voted for your candidate. If I missed a major model, chastise me appropriately - I'll learn eventually.
(*This is the right answer.)

94 turbo 3.6 because it has beastly acceleration, great big red brakes, is relatively comfortable and looks incredible.

I voted for SC because it was the model that moved the 911 from just the 356 successor into the eternal soul of Porsche, and its achievable price combines with bullet-proof reliability.

So, I have this problem with a rough idle. Therefore, I tested for vacuum leaks and found that the boots that connect the manifold tubes to the airbox were leaking. They have been replaced, but I still have a rough idle. Should I vote for Obama?

1995–1997 993 Turbo -- favorite 911 of all time. Just a fast, sweet-sounding beautiful machine!
You can't go wrong with any of them though.

If you can live through another 4 years of progressively worsening rough idle and leaking boots with your tax dollars going to social welfare recipients who are running their escolades in top notch then go for it.

Yes, but for a solution to your car issues, use the search function and post a thread on this forum!

trick question. 1971 was still 2.2 liter.
Of course, the 1972 2.4 911S was the pinnacle of 911 design. It was all downhill after 1973.. ![]()

You know I agree to a large extent but I'd feel bad about heavily modding a pre 73. An SC I don't feel bad about hacking up at all!

3.2 Carrera. All the other cars are out of touch. They are elitist. The 3.2 is the 911 for the people and by the people.

73-74 Carrera RS, I may never own or drive one (or I might who knows) but it truly defines the 911 in its purest form, a truly classic car.
Regards Dave

I vote SC. It was the 3.0 liter motor co-developed with the 930 and was supposed to be the last great 911 (while the 928/924 was supposed to take over) which means they made them to last. Also, right now they're a great buy for a hot rodder because you can get them for less than the Carreras and upgrade with all the money you saved. Plus, you can buy the take-offs that the Carrera guys are dumping for their upgrades (calipers, sways, cam chain tensioners, oil coolers, intakes, girl friends because you have extra cash for fancy dinners in your 911...

How about a vote for the SWB 911s (64-68). Light weight, short stroke, and squirrely enough to keep even the best drivers on their toes. The purest of the bunch.

The 87 Carerra Targa model is my favorite because I own one and is a car I can still mess with and not get into too much trouble with computer overload.
