Any ideas on this ?
When I got my SC about ten years ago the AC didn't work so when I had it painted I just took much of it out. Any ideas on what it might cost to reinstall AC in it ? Likely a bunch I'm sure

You'll save a lot by sourcing the parts and doing it yourself. If you drop it off at a shop and say "just fix it", I'm guessing you're looking at $2.5k to $3k. I did my buddies '78 SC for about $1200. Blows ice cold on the hottest Florida summer days.

Hopefully you have a couple of the key pieces left, if not you'll need these at a minimum:
1. Black plastic evaporator box 2. Thermostat & probe 3. Front condenser fan 4. Compressor bracketry 5. Wire harnesses front and rear 6. Evaporator Blower motor (if keeping) Then go to Pelican's part catalog and order the replacement kit of your choice and be off and running. So if you still have the above pieces you need 1.5-1.8k to get the new pieces to make it all work.

So did I, but I put it all in boxes. Did you throw all of it out?

To do it right, i'd plan on around 3K which would be basically all new everything.
I need to do mine......just waiting for my E-mail from Nairobi.

Yeah, mostly. Still have the condenser and inside controls. The rest, as I recall, was just rubber hoses, compressor and mount. All too expensive to re-do. It's the buyer I had lined up who wants it. I never had a problem with no AC and it gets HOT here !
