911 won't roll
 

With car out of gear and em brake off wheels will not turn freely! I can be on a slight hill or want to push it and it will not roll any ideas!

Most likely emergency brake pads stuck on. Less likely car still in gear.

When you shift can you feel the "click" of the linkage engaging?

Welcome to Pelican, Runsurfer. You're going to have to provide A LOT more inforrmation here. You should start by what car you have. For instance, we don't know if it's a Passat or a 911. Year? Pictures would be nice.

What have you done to the car? Brake job recently? Has it been sitting for a long time? There are a number of reasons why any car resists rolling, brakes, bearings, alignment, tires...

And, I'll throw this out there as well. Become familiar with the search function on this site. You will find the answer to your question.

Plugged flexible brake lines are always suspect.

Make sure it really is out of gear, when safe, try starting her, if she jolts, there you go. If not then it has to either stuck caliper/s or e-brake frozen.

Worse case CV joint failure/frozen, I doubt this, it should still move but you will hear clicks.

last time driven - how many time / year driven
last brake service
last fluid flush

has it been jacked up and each wheel checked - if so do they ALL stick or just 1-2

calipers get sticky when in need of servicing

time to rebuild your calipers, do all 4, thank me later...

you have to put in in gear with the engine running for the car to go. Doy..


you should be able to tell if the e-brake is stuck by the loose leaver. and if it is you can spray some lube on the plungers on the backing plates and smack them with a hammer lightly. Thats usually where they stick

The original nylon pedal bushings are prone to sticking not allowing the pedal to return. The cure is the replacement brass bushings.

I had this problem once.

Could be the old "915 stuck in reverse" too. Way too many options here. Need more info.
