Rob Roy Hillclimb -- Part Four

As this was an MG Car Club event, there was a myriad of British cars with fervent owners, including, well, MGs and an assortment of hi-po Minnies.

There was a bit of everything here, so spectating -- as a cancelled entrant -- was more fun than I thought.

Fellow Aussie Pelicaner, Sean Hamilton, spotted Adam moments before the first official runs were to begin. Top bloke! Here's a couple of images of his immaculate 1980 911 SC Targa.

A current-model M5 -- beater! The car it tows must be more fun!

Could this car have climbed the mountain in under 30 seconds? I guess we'll never know!

End of Part 4.

You know life is good when an M5 is your tow vehicle!

Great pictures, thanks!

The M5 belongs to a TSOA Vic buddy - Keith Ondarchie. It was Keith's first hill climb too, you shuold a' seen his grin.
He tows a red blooded British TR4, almost identical to mine in appearance except his is race prepped.
I helped him load the TR4 - his trailer is a work of art too.
Keith also owns a concours Spitfire and a Triumph Stag.

I'm certain it would be the same for fellow Porsche 911 drivers, I recall one of the first outings with my TR4 and it broke down in the city (Lucas - the first of many) on a freeway off ramp, Saturday afternoon footy peak hour. Out of the traffic a bloke in a Stag pulled in behind me to lend assistance and got me going again. I later learned it was Keith. I know his concern is always genuine, but in the club we jokingly rib the Stags for always breaking down (and they've had a gut full of us continually trotting it out) so those owners will jump at any public opportunity and take delight in stopping for a busted TR, even if it is just to circle around a gloat. Shame on the TR driver allowing a Stag to assist, in public.
Although since then I've stopped for other fellow TR drivers, I've never seen a Porsche broken down on the road side.......... yet.
