Helping with re-assembling seats
I've been doing an interior overhaul and took apart the driver's seat to have the leather re-stitched because the threads had come apart.
I've been following this DIY thread Recovering Front Seats - 1985 Porsche 911 Question: Is there a trick to reassembling the recliner adjuster knob? I'm bungering up the one clip trying to figure out how this came apart. I can't get the black adjuster cap over top of the strange nuts/clip... and when I do get it "on" it just flops around (not secure). In the DIY the guy hammers the one nut to loosen it... but there are no threads and I can't remember how this all came apart... Am I missing something easy here or ??? Losing patience with this thing! Thanks for your help/advice ![]() ![]()

Never mind! just figured it out.
The recliner plastic wheel comes apart and I forgot about that. Once I saw that I use a big socket to drive the clip can in place. Problem solve. ![]()
