After a slow bake in the booth overnight, we got it assembled and on the trailer for the ride home.

The color looks fantastic in the sun and the interior will set it off even more!

HUGE thanks to Leonard and Bela at Thoroughbred Collision Center in Auburn WA for all their hard work and flawless work!!!

Great color choice. Some of the best colors ever were on 356 color charts IMO.

Awesome color choice, as per usual. Can't wait to see the interior and how it will complement the color.

I like that the fender wells are black to further the long hood aesthetic. Will the front trunk and engine compartment be black as well?

Great color choice :-)

I have also chosen this color for my 914/6 GT project.

What color code is that ?
(From 356 registry I found Stone Grey - 5710) Not sure if this matches any modern paint.

Looks sort of like a creamy olive color. This may be the closest thing I've seen. I think there is more olive in yours.

Great work. It's coming along very nicely.

Slow progress on the car lately as we had to special order the leather from a designer on the east coast. What a PITA but I hope it will be worth it!

I ended up choosing the leather on the right.

Here we are starting to mock up the door panels and playing with ideas for door handles...nothing set in stone yet.

Nice color - cool hot rod

Chris, your attention to detail, endless patience, and esthetic sense are impeccable. Your other projects were stellar and this one follows suit. Very much looking forward to seeing the finished product in person - so I can steal it.

PS: that color combo is killer

bugmeat 12-20-2013 06:12 PM

Very nice. Were you inspired by this car?

Dutchmann - Tim Abbot

cnielsen 02-07-2014 04:05 PM

Bugmeat, no. I've seen that car before but wasn't inspired by it. Actually this is the first time I've even noticed the similarity in color. Nice car but the seats and the wheels...to each their own I guess. I believe it is also a back date car :)

Finally some progress on the interior!

Headliner is in as well as most of the black trim. We are remaking the parcel shelf because I don't care for the SC style and I really wanted a 72-73 style. Carpet is an OEM black wool set for a '75 Anniversary edition 911. The leather is finally going in the car!!!

Special thanks to Jamie at McFarland Upholstery in Puyallup WA for his fantastic work!

Beautiful contrast between the black trim and the cork side panels Chris. nice.

I'd use foam board for the door panels - appbiz carries it.

cnielsen 02-07-2014 04:45 PM

The door panels have all been reworked since those pics. The doors are original the SC. I think we have decided to use authentic 69-73 door panels, pockets, etc. I had a spare set and I think they will look good with the interior and contrasted with the orange background on the panels.

Do you already have a good set of early map pockets? They cost nearly as much as a running SC these days.

Great looking car BTW.

cnielsen 02-07-2014 05:27 PM

Yes, I've got a few sets I've collected over the years.

Subscribing - Great work...most impressive!
