Pulled the oil cooler last night, my observations.

I gotta say I'm not impressed. This is in my opinion one incredibly piss poor way to seal such a critical piece. Maybe my seals were old but they just did not seem to be up to the job. Yes, mine was leaking, in my opinion how could it not? Any thoughts on this.

Leakage could be due to overtightening the nuts. Old seals and excessive tightening in an attempt to stop a leak could distort the seals. When those seals get old, they get quite brittle and can split rather easily. The new seals are green DuPont Viton and are supposed to be more durable than the old brown/orange silicone seals.
