Question How to install 993 door handles on early 911?

I tried searching... but could not find a thread with step by step on how to do this swap.

Anyone that can share the process? Am I doing this correctly?

Top barrel is 993, lower one is from my SC ('81)

Cylinder lock shorter for the early 911 as you can see in the photos...

Should I be using only the cylinder lock and end leg?? or just the cylinder lock? I don't see how I can reuse the end leg from the 993, can't bolt it down, unless I get a longer bolt...

Looks like it is the only way this could go together... my old 911 cylinder lock with the end leg from the early handle...

And just for kicks... 993 cylinder lock does not work on the early door handles...can't slide it in all the way.

Cool

I took the internal apart to get them ready for when the handles are painted. I only have one of the internal parts... still looking for the driver side (WTB thread).

2.5 hex

8mm socket

And it is out... notice the R ... side specific
