PCA-Escape to the Ozarks?
Hey all, any one going to this event? I just registered although a little late. Seems like the best western is sold out and while there are plenty of other options around the eureka springs just thought i ask if any of you folks found other hotels outside the springs that are nice? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thank you!

I'm not going, but the roads in the area are fantastic! I took my Boxster to the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood (Salem, MO) a few years ago, my son and I took the long way home and it was a blast! Just watch out for the moonshiners and meth cookers.

Was down at eureka springs this summer there are lots of nice hotels in the area. It would scare the crap outta me to try to drive the 911 in the town of eureka springs because they are very narrow and most are steep grades definitely a town lost in time.

This year it's called the Escape because PCA is involved, but it's been Porsche Palooza every year for about 8 years now. We've attended almost every year and it's a blast. Over 220 Porsches last year and incredible roads to stretch some legs. It's always been a very low-key and kick back event....not sure if this year will change with PCA and all the PCA "rules" that usually are in play.
The main hotel sold out in 3 hours after registration opened but a friend got a room at another hotel across the street. There are lots of hotels all around. The banquet is always overload with great food and tons of door prizes and Vic Elford will be the guest speaker.

Great guy's thanks for all the info! My wife and I are looking forward to it. How are the roads and weather in November over there? Snow ? I'm currently running Hankook v12's should I invest in something like Continental DWS's or Blizzak's?

Weather has always been perfect for the 2nd week in November in the past. Normally too early for snow. But the way this year has been......102 today.....who knows!

Used to live in that area and its a lot of fun. Great roads and beautiful forests and scenery.
You should have a great time.

I'm up in the area as I type this. Here for a long weekend (wrong one!) It's absolutely beautiful right now and the fall colors are still on fire. Yesterday it was 75+ and today is supposed to be in the upper 60's. It should be a great time. Friday I heard that 350 or so cars already registered. Have fun.

I went to Palooza last year. Looking forward to Escape this year. Honestly I would not even consider the Best Western. They charge almost the same as the local B&B's. I stayed at a B&B last year and loved it so much that I booked my room for this year at that time, but yeah I did notice that even though I registered the first day it was open that the Best Western was already full... There are TONS of places to stay in town though as it is a huge tourist destination.
Any folks on here from DFW meeting up for lunch in Fort Smith again this year on the way up? Kirk |

I was one of the 3 guys that made it to lunch late last year in Fort Smith. We're leaving from Austin this year in the AM so will miss lunch. Looking forward to seeing everyone again this year. I'm bringing the 944S2 again this year since it is such a good highway cruiser.... (and needed the top end on our way up to Eureka from Fort Smith!) Morrie

Morrie, ( and everyone) watch out for the deer in Arkysaw. They are thick right now.
We're seeing deer constantly everywhere. A big boy ran across in front of us yesterday...during the day!
