doing a 3.2 into my 914-6
I had planned to just put the DME in the engine compartment on the sidewall, since my GT never ever had a battery in that location anyway, i've had an msd on the firewall for years with my 2.7 i also note that the old 914-4s had the cpu hanging in front of the battery tray - so it seems that Porsche had no fears about that location i'm a few days away from hanging the engine, so it's time to decide Pros - Cons _ ?? TIA Larrym .

Hmmm, possible heat sink issues, I would suggest in the cab behind the seat if not under the seat???

I'm with Draco. Somewhere in a cool, dry, dark place. I've also read that some people have experienced issues with their DME's after strong and sudden suspension jolts, and have fabricated mounts to lessen such impacts. As long as your in there....

Not much room under the seats...between the seats or in the rear trunk would be my suggestion. On my 3.0 install I used the back trunk for an additional cooler and MSD.
