Correct Windshield Trim on '66

My '66 (301278) was "updated" many years ago to black trim. I'd like to return it to the original chrome but uncertain about the windshield trims. Were they chrome plated steel or aluminum?

John, What a pretty car! I hope I can get my trim to look that good.

Jerry, that's not my car, but it belongs to a very nice man who won his class in the 50th annual Porsche Parade concours. Of course the wipers are on the wrong side, but when they park in front of the driver they actually keep the rain from going up in your face when you shut them off, unlike when they park on the other side (as in Wayne's project #69!).

That is, however, the same color my car will be when the restoration is complete, 6606 Irish Green. Nice, no? What color are your cars?

John, My '66 is white (originally brown) and my '68 is the original Bahama Yellow. I'd post photos but don't know how to do it with this "quick reply" system. You can email me at gjwslw@ameritech.net
