What is this?

Newbie here, I was wondering what was this.

it's located in the smugglers box.

Is it a fan and/or part of the air conditioner?
The lines that come up to it look like they could be part of the air conditioner
and the black circular box could be a fan or an air booster of some sorts.

I thought I could ask before investigating some more.

Just bought the Porsche this summer, and spent the time riding it.
Figure I could use the time in winter storage to fix and explore.

That is your AC fan and heat exchanger.

This is the evaporator (Radiator-like unit, fan, and temp sensor) from your A/C system.

Thanks, I figured.

Is it common to have it place there?

Yes for factory units. Not sure for aftermarket, but yours is factory.
