1 bar wastegate spring install
I replaced my stock spring with a 1 bar spring. It would of taken a total of 1 hr. to do but I had to get help to start the screws on the cover. It is a very heavy spring and takes about 150 lbs to compress. You will need help. My diaphram was good but my valve guide is bad so I will rebuild my wastegate next winter.
The results. I was getting 10 or 11 lbs of boost before now I get around 13 to 14lbs. My car pulls harder but not that much. It is more noticeable in the higher gears. I am not getting any pinging at all. I did a mileage check today and I'm getting 9.5 mpg yikes but that is another thread. I would do it again.

Just because you can't hear it, doesn't mean it isn't pinging.
Did you do any other mods? Tom |
