did it again ... it followed me home

Ok first off I have to say this is getting the be a bit of a habit ...

Already have a great running 1980 SC w/ 964 body "upgrade" and a Beck bodied 1973 914

I could not walk away, you know what I am talking about if you are on this forum ...

The price was right and I have already admitted I have a problem, and I am hoping this forum can be a help in figuring out what I have ....

The known facts are 1974 Porsche 911 vin 9115202071 ...

Silver paint
Silver bright work
Black interior(all black carpet, seats, dash, door cards and tops) white?offwhite headliner
16" Fuchs (PO stated he bought to replace the 15")
May have had fender work done(butt looks a bit wide about the same as my SC)
Whale tail (rubber lip Porsche Crest embossed in the rubber)
Rubber front lower spoiler
No rear wiper but the tail has the hole with the plug in it
"carrera" script under the tail
Manual crank windows
Post style door lock posts
air conditioning
Blaupunkt am/fm/cass
Dictaphone microphone

Any ideas or thought of what to check .... Vin shows as an S not a Carrera

O yeah has not been turned over since about 98 .....

Thanks ...... I know Pics are mandatory and I will follow up as soon as the rain stops with them .......

Based on the Vin, it is a '75. Sounds fun.

Not really .... This is the third one in the last 10 years .... the first one I drove home and still drive .. the 1980 SC the second I drove home the 1973 914 .. its in the garage and has not moved since I drove it home .. the last came home on a tow truck .... the 75

the one good thing is she like the looks of the 75 better than the rest .. I have told her that I will part with one in the near future .. likely the 73 will be on the block soon ... was looking forward to taking it out and AX'ing it but the 75 has more promise ....

O the other thing I forgot to mention is this is a three owner car with me being the third ... the PO has had the car since 1977 and bought it off the P dealer as a used when the first owner traded it in on a 78 SC ... the car looks to be a keeper ... so far have not found any of the PO wtf was he thinking signs .. no tape on the wires etc ... and the car was serviced by a "good" mechanic in the SF bay area until it "died" after a drive .. it just quit on him going in the drive way and was pushed in the garage .....

That was 1997 .. it saw sunlight yesterday for the first time in a long time ...

Congrats!

Dragging it home is always the easiest part.

Sounds like a complete car. Getting a long sitter running is always fun. Vinegar gas and rotten bushings and gaskets and all.
