'86 Cab 3.2 still missing/running bad

new cap, rotor, wires. Will replace fuel filter then get at the plugs - at least the ones I can reach..(ho, ha.) If that does not cure it I will be in a dark place. Was running a-ok then just started this missing on idle that becomes very apparent when accelerating. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...oilet_claw.gif

Probably on the right path, but while you're sorting, on a 3.2 check the tightness of the fasteners that hold the intake to the heads.

Run Techron fuel injector cleaner a few tank fulls. Fix mine when I first bought it 9 years ago. It had sat for a while before I bought it.

Overhaul the fuel injectors, and it will feel like a factory new motor!

has 66,000 miles - could use injectors by now I suppose. Wondering what special tool(s) might help with the plugs on the right side. Nothing too fancy in the tool box right now. Wow. Those Porsche injectors must have some 24K in 'em.

I'm with Angela - intake gaskets probably breaking down.

I had the same problem - used a smoke machine to prove intake leaks. Total cost to fix less than $50 but a good 10 hours to remove/replace intake manifold assembly

The Cylinder Head Temp Sensor is another likely culprit.

Read some here:

Send the injectors out to Mr Injector, worth every cent which isnt much.

The tool that came in the factory tool kit is the best for removing the plugs.

If you need injectors http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/327832-alternative-fuel-injectors.html Go to page 13. I have been running the injectors from Motorman with no issues.

check for water in the dist cap - if you have been driving in the rain or the car has been in the rain

and all the things listed above, but this one takes 30 seconds

thanks for all suggestions - yesterday came across detached vac line that proved to be the culprit. Short 6-8""u-shaped hose that runs from temp sensor at backside of throttle body base and then back to throttle body. Tough to get at but after finally re-attaching it idled rough for 5-10 seconds then settled in to steady idle she always had in the past. Dumb thing I suppose I should have caught earlier but very location makes it hard to notice it until you know the diagram and where to look. thanks again.
