With 200 hp and only 2450 lb, I am not suprised. Let's see how it does in endurance racing. The 100 mile range is going to be a problem.

Drag racing in the rain......
and you guys thought Juan was a nut! I always get a kick out of those tree hugging dip****s. "Saving the natural world through education" HA! How do they think this electric wonder machine was made? By majic? Chemical factories to make the composite materials, battery factories (you can only imagine the puke they put out), power plants to make electricity, etc, etc. What a joke! I'm sure the EPA would much rather make money selling pollution permits to factories than to deal with the American driving public. But I digress. Nice looking headlights, no? |

Noticed it was raining. COuld the electric have a better launch capability in low traction?
Give me infernal combustion anyway... I don't think a card in the spokes would sound as good as a flat six with megaphones... How would I get my sound? |

Yes well, electric can be an easy all-wheel drive. Great for the rain. Dr Porsche's first car was electric with each wheel being a motor. (nasty unsprung weight)
There is no doubt the E-vehicle didn't have the heater turned on. Oh I just thought of a new product for these E-vehicle guys. It will be called an "E-Collar." I don't know what it will do yet, but that doesn't really matter. Just as long as it has good intentions. Buhha ha ha ha. Saw that website like a year ago, that car is very impressive..er ok, they both are. But basically we already would have such electric cars if oil companies would have said yes to research electronic engines.
Actually there was this guy in USA, that invented how the car could run with less than half the fuel it needs now. They bought him silent. Then there is Stirling engine, which will eventually work very well..this will rock the place. Think planet earth as a game. I know some of you have played civilization or some other such a game where you need to research. In the game you can put your efforts to gain only one goal. Think if you could do that in real life...New energy source..Size of a coke can. =) This would open up soo much new things to us. //This is Zendalar, X-files =) [This message has been edited by Zendalar (edited 08-16-2001).] |

I agree that the tree huggers are a little off on thier target. After all where does the electricity come from? What about the acid in the batteries?
The greatest thing I have seen in a very long time is bio-diesel. Runs clean and is made from vegetable oil base, actually all sorts of oils like canola, flax seed, etc. Anyway it can run in all regular diesel cars with zero modifications. The only thing that maybe bad is cold weather because the biodiesel will not flow and has a higher combustion temperature than regular diesel. If the US government did not have price controls on natural oils bio-diesel would be way cheaper than gasoline. Apparently bio-diesel is common in Europe in farming areas where there is no price controls on natural oils. I am sure there are even more alternatives out there if you look hard enough... But big brother, big corporations, and OPEC have no reason to change a good thing. Screw the environment and the consumer. ------------------ Adrian Pillow 1979 911 SC 1966 VW Microbus PCA - Peachstate Region |
