Window trim and seal 89 Targa
I have a 1989 3.2 Targa. I need to install new window seals (The seal that runs along the bottom outside of the driver and passenger side glass). What is the best way to remove the old rubber seal from the aluminum trim and reinstall the new seals? The Bentley manual does not shed any light on this and I haven't been able to find any information in this forum.
Thanks, Brian

If you're referring to the rubber squeegee you can gently pry underneath aluminum strip and it will pull up. The strip is held in place with small spring clips that create a press fit. Once pried up you can slide the old seal off and slide the new one on. A little spray silicone or soapy water will help get the seal to slide into place smoothly.

Finished
Thanks for the info. I was able to get them installed today. I snapped a shot of how the trim and seal work for anyone's future reference. Trims raises up without a problem with a smooth flat edge. I used liquid soap to lubricate the seals before sliding them into the trim.

Reviving and old thread
Does the chrome trim on my 71 Targa pop out the same way so I can slide the new rubber squeegee in? There is a piece in the way at the open end of the door that makes sliding it in as it sits on the car difficult to do without damaging the squeegee.
