Well this weekend I gave Brownie, my 82 911SC Targa, a present, a rubber tail I picked up on eBay for only $150. I definitly feel a differance on the highway, and I like the looks, however, I would love to hear some unbiased feedback. Also, I have never really found out any info on these rubber tails.
Cheers, Marc BEFORE AFTER

Of course I'm unbiased, I'm a New Zealander, actually I don't like it but I think most of the other guys will like it. And cool, it's the correct wing thingie for a SC. It was origional equipment on the sport option cars for the era.

I think it looks good. I have one of these in my collection of "stuff". I think it was an option for 77.

In my opinion, Targa rear ends NEED tails! Coupes can get away with that nice sloping roof line, but the TARGA rear window screams out for something to detract from all that glass.
Your car looks great! |

that all rubber one is really heavy. two beefy lid shocks needed.

Can't quite tell from the pictures, but do you have a lower valence on the front?
I've always been told and have read that for a wing to truely be effective it needs the valence on the front. Your's is the first SC I've seen with that small tail and I think it looks OK - it kinda balances out the black top and bar.

I also like it, and I agree with the others that the tail balances the lines of a Targa.

Yes I do have the lower valence on the front. B4 at 80+mph on my commute to work I would get knocked around by crosswinds, this tail has made a huge differance, the car feels much tighter now at higher speeds.
Thanks for all the input, Marc

It's all a matter of taste -of course- but I believe that the Targa look at it's best with no tail
![]() Had one on my car when i bought it, but it was #1 thing to go.. But, then again, it's all a matter of taste..

ErVikingo, thanks for the lights... I have only been a Pcar owner for 6 months now. Are there any events going on in South Florida?
Thanks, Marc
