Anyone put a 993 rear view mirror in their 911?

Hey all,

My old rear view mirror from my '76 911 fell off of the windshield when I was driving a few days ago. It was already in poor shape (really shaky) since I got the car a few years ago so now it is time to replace it completely. If I bought the original mirror, I would also need the mounting bracket ($77 for mirror + $15 for bracket). Apparently, the 964/993 mirror comes as one unit and it is just glued straight onto the windshield without that extra bracket. Can anyone verify this? I want to make sure before I order it. It looks like the 964/993 mirror is identical with minor styling differences, so I would rather just buy that mirror so I don't have to buy the old 911 mirror + bracket. Any insights?

Thanks!
