Rough Timing the Cams
When you rough time the cams, Is it right to say that there should not be any valves opening or resistance from the valves at that time. I have 911 and numbers stamped on the cam nut area, but no dots.
Thanks Eric |

I could swear I just answer this question a minute ago but my answer and someone else's seem to have disappeared.
Maybe they'll come back. I can wait... -Chris Last edited by ChrisBennet; 06-25-2002 at 12:12 PM.. |

with the engine on Z1, the 911 goes on top. if the distributor is installed at the time, the rotor also needs to point at the notch on the distributor body signifying #1 cylinder. Z1 means both #1 and #4 pistons are at TDC. if the distributor is out, it doesn't matter, but the fact that the cams are positioned with the 911 on top denotes #1 cylinder firing position, so make sure the distributor goes in accordingly.
