I would say that that car is worth more with that motor in it than with just another motor of the same type, sourced from another chassis number.

If I owned the car, I'd market it to a buyer in Europe, where those cars are more highly prized. Clean it up well, fix any known issues, document everything that you can and take many, many high quality photographs of every aspect of the car and it's documentation. I would think it would be an easy car to sell.

Even though it not a matching numbers car, I would bring it back to original condition if it was mine. selling the engine and rest of the car will bring good money, but a complete RoW 1974 carrera 2.7 is for sure something very special and will only go up in value.

Interestingly this engine DOES have an "AT" stamping! It just isn't next to the serial number in this case like previous ones I've seen. Instead it prefixes the "911/83" stamping in that photo (which is stamped in the wrong location). I wonder why they didn't restamp the original serial number in this case.

Hi Guys,

Bringing this up to date.

Anyone know the value of a '74 911/83 case?

Thanks

Did they find the #s matching engine, or is it the replacement engine that started this thread?
