My New '88 Targa CE

I posted this in my usual lair of the OT, but thought it would be fun to share with the tech community. I picked up an '88 Commemorative Edition Targa a few weeks ago that had spent some time as a PCA club race car. Basic pertinent details:

1988 Carrera Targa Commemorative Edition - special edition to celebrate 250,000 911s built. Exclusive diamond blue metallic paint, metallic blue interior with Ferry Porsche signature seats, color matched 15" Fuchs (included but not installed)
54,000 miles - purchased from the 2nd owner that bought it in 1992
G50 gearbox with Quaife LSD and shortened 5th gear, RSR lightened flywheel, HD clutch
Safety devices 6-point bolt in cage w/harness bar and harness
Momo wheel with quick release
Momo racing seat with sliders (not installed)
RS door panels
RSR bumpers, RS America rear spoiler
16x8 & 9 HRE wheels
Fully rebuilt suspension with monoballs, sway bars, 23/29 torsion bars, custom valved Bilsteins, turbo tie rods, strut brace
993TT front brakes, 928 S4 rear brakes, 911 turbo master cyliner
The best part - recent total engine rebuild with 9.9:1 P&Cs, rebuilt heads with new valves and studs, boattailed crankcase, lightened and knife edged crank, rebuilt lightened and shot peened rods, full balance, Autothority MAF, headers, and Phase 9 race mufflers.

Here's the car as I bought it:

As it sits right now:

Obviously the front splitter, rear spoiler, and rockers are off. I'm glad to see the spoilers go, but still unsure on the rockers. The cage is out and for sale, I'll be reinstalling the stock wheel and selling the Momo and quick release, and the carpet and seats behind the front seats is gone. My basic to-do list right now: repaint the bumpers, repair the deck lid and repaint, new carpet, reinstall original wheel, new spring plate bushings, plugs, valve adjustment, all new fluids, belts, reinstalling the original interior door and rear quarter panels, street brake pads, brake/clutch bleed, fix the A/C, reinstall original exhaust w/cat bypass (for now), and probably some other stuff that I'm forgetting on my to-do list. I've already bought new floor mats and nice new RE11 tires, which are very good BTW.

I'm still torn on the no rocker look, from some angles it flows well with the RSR bumpers, from others it looks strange. I'm going to try filling the holes before I reinstall them. I'm also torn on the wheels, which are HRE and in mint condition. I'm considering having the centers color matched to the car, similar to the original Fuchs on the CEs.

Nice ride. I missed this post in Sept. I have a CE as well but a coupe. Any updates? Are you bringing back to stock or going the other route? Pretty sure there weren't many coupes built.
