Orb, that is entirely possible and its done all the time. Actually, I know (from a good source) that the next software version for the E6K is going to have the capability to change maps on-the-fly. So you could have a switch in the cockpit and change maps at the flick of a switch. This would be very handy for boosted engines.
There is a valid arguement that once you tune correctly there isn't a need for other maps because these systems are so accurate, consistant and are programed to adjust for changing variables like air temp, etc. I still think it would be usefull to have a regular map at 8/10ths and flip the switch for a 10/10ths scare your passenger ride! ------------------ Mark The Beast mark@hargett.com |
