'85 Carrera Electrical issues
I have an '85 Carrera backdated to a '73 RSR and I have some electrical issues.
- gas gauge doesn't work until I turn on the headlights - Turn signals and emergency flasher doesn't work until I have been driving for 30-45 minutes and then they work fine. |

When I saw the subject matter for your post I was going to try to take a stab at helping out, as I've muddled through enough wiring issues on my own '85 over the years that I felt reasonably comfortable. Now that I've read the symptoms I find that I'm out of my league. Sheesh, wonder if my doctor ever goes through this. Sorry, but maybe the bump up to the top will bring a better diagnostician.

Recheck the connections on the back of the gauges. Check all ground connections.

OK, I got the turn signals working with a new relay but the gas gauge still won't show the correct amount unless the headlights are turned on. I have checked all the ground connection points shown in Bentley as well as the connections on the instruments. Any ideas?
