ROCKET COVER 30.L sc

Hi all, I've got A problem with A oil leak around my rocket cover, I paid A mechanic to fix it he put A new gaskit kit on it & told me its fixed I've taken it back twice now & he can't seem to fix it, I'm not real sure but it could be leaking from the rear bottom nuts although I'm not real sure, whats annoying I've paid good $ to get this sorted as the rest of the engine is super dry, any info on common causes will be greatly appreciated
, Gus

That must be one fast SC if it has a "rocket" onboard!

Oil can be leaking from other places and show up on the lower valve nuts. Couple suspects would be oil cooler seals if its on the right side of the car. Another possibility would be rocker arms - do a search on that and you'll find a bunch of info.

I'd suggest a good cleaning and then drive it and see if you can see where it's coming from.

Thanks, sorry here in Australia we call them rocket cover, It's the Alloy cover that sits on heads with the tappets under it .

flatten the seal lip by sanding the cover on a sheet of flat glass

your 30 L motor will be fine after that

We call them Rocker Covers or Valve Covers here in NA. They cover the rocker arms.
Read up on leaking rocker arm shafts.

Never heard of rocket cover before over here in Adelaide mate Rocker cover is the norm I would have thought.

Grab ya camera and take some photos so we can take a look at it.

I know my little red car leaves its mark where ever it goes, that's normal and seems to be for many. As long as it does not get too too bad I am not worried by it.
