Painted car with flat balck plastidip.
Removed Racaro seats and fitted new Sparco seats. Fitted new 6 point harness. Removed Sparco seats as I found 2 holes in the covers. Refitted Recaros. Sent Sparco's back with nasty letter. |
Replaced all A Arm bushings, would have been fun had I not been sick as a dog with a brutal sinus infection. Had to get it done with the time off...or so I thought. Like a lot of projects the next time it will go MUCH faster, fortunately it won't have to be done for a LONG time. It also was not as hard as I thought it was going to be. Biggest delay is getting distracted by other little projects and pointless cleaning up of stuff.

Over the holidays I spent a morning on Youtube watching videos of guys painting their cars and wheels with plasti-dip.
https://www.dipyourcar.com/pages.php?pageid=8 I also shipped out some seats that were in my basement so that I can make room to bring home more of my spare parts. (Two seats fit in a cut-down wardrobe box and are now in the hands of their happy new owner) Also started cleaning the basement. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1357656821.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1357656843.jpg |
My '73 got
- new rotors, pads, brake lines and callipers on all 4 corners, new parking brake shoes - brake flush with RF600 - new undercoating where needed - removed flapper boxes (now all heater stuff is gone) - fixed pop out window closing mechanism - lowered in front (again) - installed fire extinguisher (after car almost caught fire last year) - some other small things Due to 3 kids and no garage the above was done by Turn3 Autosports (Jeff Alton's new shop). Picking up car today and I am very excited to have it back (although the Vancouver weather sucks!). Carrera is in deep hibernation until April or so. |
New rotors, brake lines and ATE Blue, turbo tie rods, bump steer kit and ERP triangulated strut brace. Valve adjust, oil change, pack front bearings, lower and alignment, fix cam oil line leak and remove A/C compressor. Oh yeah, new pedal pads for brake and clutch. Almost ready for the next autocross season.
Now it is in storage until Spring. If there is a nice salt-free day I will give it a run. |

Not too much...bought a ducktail (awaiting installation) and put on a new Momo Competition wheel.
