dealer cost on tires?
Does anyone know if there is a website similar to Edmunds.com that shows dealer cost on tires; I'm asking because I just got an email from Tires Plus saying "you pay what we pay +$1". I got a price on Potenza RE-11s; the 245/45-16s were only $4 less per tire for their "we pay"...BS. The 225/50-16s were $30 less per tire. Their normal prices are less than Tire Rack, interestingly enough.

I don't know but I purchase toyo racing tires (r888 or ra1) and if you register with toyoteamracing, you pay 20% less than the dealer pays.
Wen I picked up my last set, the dealer had to call toyoteamracing to give them my discount number so he could get his money back as I paid him less than he paid toyo... Pretty good deal and it is free... They have the size I need 245/45/16.

I didn't think it was only in Canada... Yes, i got thim in Victoria. They were 140 each for the rear 245/45-16 and close to 200 each in front 225/50-16.
I will check if it is only in Canada. "Eh" |

Back to the original question...
Tires are priced on volume. Dealers that buy more will pay less - sometimes significantly less. Also, tire manufacturers and distributors will sometimes take drastic cuts on tires when they are overstocked on a particular model or size. For these reasons, there is no single, universal "dealer cost" for tires. Therefore, no place for you to look it up, either.
