That looks like a lot of fun...esp with a 2.2 6 cylinder in it. Nice, fun car.

Boy, that guy sure does run off at the mouth a lot!

I don't think that 5-point harness was intended for use over bare skin ...

That ad looks really familiar. I think he listed that car once before. Must not have hit the reserve, or fell through.

Probably would be a fun car to drive.....some people would never know what just passed them...
Warren, in a different post about a/c fuse blowing someone suggests asking you for some diagrams. I'm fixing the ac in my 78 911 and the little relay next to the evaporator blower is no good. The wires got hot and melted or just deteriorated. I've got a new fuse for it, but I don't know which wires go to which connection on the relay. Any help?

Yeah this ad hit the rennlist last month....some of the comments ran like...."nothing sells a Porsche better than a skinny skank leaning on a roll bar...."

There is another guys that sells using a "Goth" girl with black lips and tattos with bodacious tatas....

Either way, the car has been seen around Santa Barbara and points south. I recognize most of the loation shots as well. The guys rep is a little shaky, but so are most used car dealers....8^)

Plainfan, my 83 has a relay in the smugglers trunk at the evaporator. It is red to 87, yellow to 85, black to 86 and red/white to 30.

This SPEEDSTER MODEL really needs a set of aftermarket silicone bumpers. The factory originals are just a bit to small for this particular car. Thats just my opinion.

I have seen this car on EBay before. It must have not hit the reserve price. It looks like it is setup pretty nice. The engine sure looks clean, I bet it is a blast to drive. It should be interesting to see what price it hits with no reserve. I have seen 356 replicas built on VW chasis with 1600 VW motors go for close to $20K.

THANK YOU Robert, tomorrow I will check it out on my car. The only thing that bothers me is I don't remember a center point on the relay, but I'll know tomorrow and will let you know.

Hello

Some relays have two simultanously switched 87 spade contacts. I think Porsche didn´t use the contact on this application.

Indeed....
"I cannot think of a single production car that would be able to keep up with it through the twisties, and even the dude on his Ducati 916 didn't have the nerves to let the sparks fly when following us."

Hmmm...the aforementioned "dude" probably didn't have the "nerve", or even know how to ride his 916.

There aren't too many cars that can see me off when I'm on my Ducati 916 Corse. It's a very potent m/c.

All in all, another load of BS from our friends at California Classix.

I checked the new relay today and everything has a place as described. The new one even has a separate fuse on the relay itself to prevent the wires from burning, nice. The best part, the relay has a 901 part number printed on it, with "Made in China" directly beneath the part number. The bag the relay came in says "Made in Germany." I bought it from Automotion. Think this might be a telling sign about the road Porsche has chosen to follow? Once again thanks for your help guys.

Hello

I think thats the correct item. Years ago they where made by Bosch in Malysia. i still have some old Made in germany relays. You can find them also in VW 411/412 for the heater relay setup.
To go sure the two 87 pins must be coppercolored while the other pins look more gold. ( Well its only a detail ).

Today it seems to be hard to find good workers who can handle tinware and soldering.
I don´t think they work better or worser then germans so quality isn´t a issue.

Yes the bag is still made in germany. I think Herma in Stuttgart print them.

Grüsse
