Factory extended hub steering wheel

Hi All -
I want to move the sterring wheel back away from the dash. After some searching, I thought the factory extended hub three spoke wheel would be perfect (wanted to keep things looking stock). I even through a WTB add up a few minutes ago.

However, in doing some additional research, I have found two references to the extended hub wheel requiring an extended steering shaft as well.

Will an extended wheel simply bolt on or not? My car is a '77 S.

Thanks a million -

shaft is not needed on my 86 wheel.. the extended hub just that, extend. It is held on the wheel by 3 bolts.

Scott, I will likely be removing the extended hub wheel in my car in a couple of weeks or so. PM me...

The extension is all in the hub and a longer shaft is not needed.
