Battery drain

I put a new fully charged battery in my car and drove it once and the next day the battery was flat. I recharged the battery.Next I disconnected the ground cable from the battery post and l measured across them with an ammeter I had 9 amps !! As I read in other posts I started to remove fuses while watching the meter the last oneI removed the 25A power window fuse was HOT after it was removed the reading was zero on the meter.
I have left the fuse out but not sure what to do next , Iam thinking it could be the passenger door switch , how can I proceed with the testing ??

Unplug the switch and look at the amp meter " set he meter on the
Highest amp setting first , it could also be a stuck relay so remove those also.
After you exhaust all fuses relays door switches trunk switches .
Also don't forget the little light over the motor if you have one. Like whale tails

Also do a search for diode , the one behind the batt dummy light

Last disconnect the alternator Guys will also jump in later the day
What car. What motor and any recent installs of anything .

The car is an 81 SC 3.0 ltr stock motor. I thought by pulling the fuse for the power windows which was very hot to touch that the drain circuit was found. Now I need to figure out why. The passenger side power window switch is intermittent in operation

you have short on that switch, pull the switch and the wiring, check for a cut line, the regulator may have cut into ine of the lines.

I've seen the window switches fail to the point they are constantly trying to lower the window - I've had to replace them 2-3 times during the 20+ years I've had my 911. After the HVAC and the brake M/C pressure switches, this is the third worst design on our cars; they look cheap, they don't have a unified connector AND they fail.

If you replace the switch get the Genuine Porsche switch.

The OEM eqivalent switches are not well made.

I appreciate all the feedback re this problem . Iam back out at work now for 2 weeks in the desert and will have to continue with this when I get back at the end of May...such is life on a 2 week rotational roster. I reckon it is the switch and will be onto it . It will be the second thing I do when I get home.

Thanks all.
