Would love some quick opinions...
Hi All -
I had my driver seat modified so I now sit pretty darn good in the car. Unfortunately I am reaching a bit for the wheel - I really need it it about an inch closer - maybe a touch more. I was going to buy a factory extended hub wheel, but have decided any and all additional room is a good thing, so I will be going after market to get a smaller diameter as well. I am down to two wheels - the Prototipo and Montecarlo. My car is a 77 - so the proto would seem to be the logical choice. But the car has been redone with mid 80's Carrera flares/interior and is running 16x7's and 9's - so it looks like an 80's era car (the era of the montcarlo's popularity). I am usually very dicisive - but this one has me a bit perplexed. Opinions? Thanks! Scott S ![]()

I've had both the Monte Carlo and the Prototipo and I much prefer the Monte Carlo. I like the ergonomics better and I think the aesthetics are better too...

The mc is pretty much a flat steering wheel, you want one with a dish. The prototipo has a little dish but the mod 08 has even more. Or get a spacer and whatever wheel you like.

I've got a 'carlo and like it very much. Another easy way to bring the wheel towards you is fitting a quick release hub. Adds about one inch and as an added bonus it's very hard to steal a car without a steering wheel :P

Wow, the original really looks clunky in comparison. ![]() -Dan
