Sadly, ToddC got in over his head and ended up shafting some fellow board members. As far as I know he never made it right.

There is this clear carbon fiber top, but it costs $10,890: Clear Targa Top

And I saw that RarlyL8 Motorsports is working on a carbon fiber version. See this thread: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-used-parts-sale-wanted/1163534-wtb-saratoga-top.html

"Clear carbon fiber"? I'd like to see that...

We are working on a Targa Top in Carbon Fiber if interested.

A carbon fiber top would be something I would be interested in, any updates?

interested as well

We were working on an improved version of the polycarbonate Saratoga top. It can be manufactured fairly easily - this was not a complicated design as it does not fold like the factory top. However, one size does not fit all. These are 40-60 year old cars now with potential accident history (oftentimes poorly repaired) and old, inferior or incorrectly installed seals. Selling a product with hit or miss fitment (and the resultant wind noise, leaks, etc) was a nonstarter.

We are forging ahead with the Carbon Fiber Targa Top. There are a few other CF projects in front of it but it will come. Several SC and Carrera Targas are at our disposal including two that we own. I have several restored tops which fit well and a Saratoga top that are being used for engineering a proper design. The CF part is no issue at all, the work will be designing a top that fits properly, seals well and is easy to store in the car while not in use.

All the best to you, Brian. When you get it dialed in, I'm a customer.

Appreciate that!
It will function better than OE or we won't do it. Looking into ways to make it collapsable if that is feasible to do. We have several un-restored cars to use for fitment verification as well as the resto-mods such as the SC being done right now. I'm sure Porsche Classic will have some input as well.

Any updates on the top? Didn't see it listed on the site.
