rotated pinion set in diff, can't thread in flange bolt (son of a *#*#)
in trying to install flanges on a 915, I was unable to thread the bolt holding the flange into the diff. With a flashlight peering into the diff through the flange hole I saw why...the pinion set has apparently rotated (as a unit presumably) so that the threaded piece is facing a different direction. is it possible to get it rotated back? the transaxle is installed in the car. I really, really don't want to drop engine again. maybe removing diff cover would let me rotate it? thanks for any help.

Pull the cover off. No need to drop engine/trans. BTDT.
